Kiss of Midnight -- Discussion #3

I want to talk about our our fearless heroine today! We were talking in the previous thread about how Gabrielle followed her instincts to rogue lairs and vampire shelters without knowing why. She thought the photos she took were interesting pieces of art, which they no doubt were! I sort of wish there were pictures in this book, I'd love to see her photos!
Do you think it was foolish of her to leave after she let Lucan drink from her? He was upset with himself, having thought he'd killed her because of his bloodlust. She mistakes his anger for not wanting her there and leaves the compound to go back home, to where she thought she "belonged". With all she knew about vampires, rogues, and minions, was she silly to leave the safety of the compound? What would you have done?

Kiss of Midnight -- Discussion #2

Okay girls, I took Billy to the airport this morning and I'm just too upset today to come up with a discussion prompt, so lets just talk about what we DID like and what we DIDN'T like about the book. I can't think of much I didn't like, lol! How about you?

Kiss of Midnight-Discussion #1

Hey Chick-lits and friends! Sorry the discussion is starting so late, I have a few things going on here on the home front;)

I realize some of you may not be finished yet, so I want to start out discussing things we've all read by now to minimize spoilage;)

Let's discuss the mythology behind the Vampires existence in this book/series. What do you think of the origins of the Vampire species, as described in Kiss of Midnight? The Vampires (even though that's not what they called themselves, that's what they essentially were) crash-landed on earth many many years ago. Their digestive systems were far too advanced to survive on human food/plants and therefore had to survive off of human blood, the only thing they could find with the proper nutrients to sustain them. Did you find these origins more or less "believable" than some mutant race bent on the slaughter of mankind, drinking blood to humor themselves?? Also, wasn't it interesting that these ancient Vampires were supposedly responsible for all the missing civilizations of times past, like Atlantis and the Mayans?
