The Wish List- Discussion #1

Let's start discussing!
I can't wait any longer... LOL

This first discussion won't have any spoilers,
since some of you are still reading.

If you haven't gotten the book yet...
you can join us at any time...
the book is
The Wish List
by Gabi Stevens

My first question is...
Did this book
HAVE YOU @ HELLO?
What did you think when you saw the cover?
and
Did the first page/chapter grab your attention
and make you want to continue?

Looking forward to what everyone has to say...

Well, it is NO secret that I have been excited about this book. I love the fantasy that there can be magic (and fairy godmothers) in this world. I loved the introduction to the plot in the first chapter. The aunts are so scattered and Kristin is so confused. I think that it sets up the book and feel of the book really well!!

Final line..."The printer was empty." Hehe, I like how meticulous Kristin is and that she likes instructions. This is like water torture for her. smiles...

I think the cover is a little deceiving. I think that the font or something should be a bit more mature as this IS a romance book and the cover makes it look like a young adult book.

I haven't finished the book yet but I'm a little over half way but I just started 2 days ago so that's a good sign! The first chapter was great! I love the chaos and how they just threw her in there. I don't really like when authors feel like they need to build into the story for like 6 chapters so I love that Gabi Stevens just dove right into the book and I'm enjoying it a lot!

Oh no there's nothing on the printer...Poor Kristin. Chaos right from the start to keep you up and reading into the wee hours.
I love the whole fairy godmother theme. I haven't done that one before.
I love the fun cover, I'm one of those that if the cover doesn't grab me I'm not going to pick it up.
I like it so much I'm reading book 2..

I was deceived by the cover, too. I can see how the cover would appeal to younger readers, but it certainly isn't meant for them!

I haven't read a lot of paranormal fiction other than Harry Potter, so this genre is new to me. I didn't know what to expect, but I liked it. Interesting plot (more serious and complicated than I had thought it would me) and a good mix of characters. Overall, a fun, quick read!

Be, not me! Perhaps I should wear my glasses when I type. Now if only my fairy godmother would show up to help me find them. I need a magic wand of my own! LOL

I'm only half way through the book so far, but it's only JUST getting good to me, lol! I really love the cover of this book, it really drew me in and gave me high hopes! Like I said, it's just now starting to get good (to me) so I still have hope, lol!

I think the cover is adorable... but I will admit when I saw it.. I didn't think I would like the book.. I know.. quick to judge.. ha! Felt as if I should be giving it to my 11 year old daughter...
BUT.. once I started it... I was interested off the bat... the whole concept of a FAIRY GODMOTHER is way too cool.. (I want one!!)

I liked how Kristin was completely confused and bewildered in the fist chapter... the aunts just cracked me up and I thought it was hilarious that they went about their business of getting ready for the 'world tour' with her there... totally in the dark as to what they were talking about.

I liked the chapter headings as well.. when I got to Ch 2.. 'Always keep your wand handy' I had to find out what was going to happen. :)
