I found that Jerome looking like John Cusack was funny. And when Georgina sees all his John Cusack movies, I laughed. I liked that he wasn't all "me boss, you suck" nor did he ask "special favors" from Georgina. That made me enjoy reading his character. As for Carter...there was something about him that I really liked but I can't but my finger on it. I have to say that not once did I picture him the way the author described him. I just saw him like that blond viking guy in True Blood only slightly bigger. What makes that especially odd is that I have never watch an episode of that show ever! O-o I loved when he gave Georgina daisies. *swoon* He is super powerful yet down to earth...sort of. Aug. It bugs me when I can't figure something out. lol Now Jerome and Carter's friendship is interesting. There must be some story there and maybe someone who has read all the books can tell me if we ever find out what it is (*cough* Christi *cough*). I'm assuming they were friends before Jerome fell or something like that. I found the 'looks' they gave each other to be, while frustrating for Georgina, funny to read. It all worked for me.
It's funny. I never could get Jerome to look like John Cusack in my mind. That just didn't work for me, although when they found his stash of JC movies, it was funny!
No, it never is revealed as to how long they have been friends, although there is a very specific reason that Carter is there which doesn't come out in book #6. That moment when Carter brought her daisies...so sweet!! I agree, that was a great moment. I thought it was interesting how Georgina's attitude morphed about both of them over time, but those are later discussions.
Back to Carter & Jerome. I liked that they were friends. For me, this puts a whole new spin on the religious aspect of the book. They may be "working" for opposite sides, but there is no black & white here..no absolute BAD and no absolute GOOD. I thought that it an interesting look at religion in general...
I liked the friendship between the two, but was looking for more explanation as to why they are friends. I agree with Christi, that I couldn't picture Jerome as John C, but then again I've never been a fan of JC. (don't hate me..lol)I did find myself liking Carter even more after he gave Georgina the daisies and Jerome more because of his softness towards Georgina.
I like both of their characters, and am eager to read more and learn more about them. I loved the whole JC aspect, as he is one of my favorite actors. I like the side story of their relationship and how they play off each other and their loyalty even though they play for different "teams". I LOVED the fact that Carter brought Georgina flowers, I think that hints at a side of him we will see more of later maybe.
