I think that you all know that our book for February is Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medieros.
Because we want to give everyone ample time to be able to get the book into their hands, we are assuming that no one is going to have it until Feb. 1. Then you have 2 weeks to read it, because we are not going to have any book-specific questions until mid-Feb (probably Feb 14.) At that point, we will start having a discussion question about every other day until the end of the month. These questions/answers WILL have spoilers so be sure to have read your book before the discussions start. ;o)
But because we don't want our little blog here to remain inactive, we are going to start some discussions about books and life in general over the next month. Let's get to know each other! The main part of the discussions will take place in the comments so check them often!
So, for today, tell us about yourself! Leave us a comment about who you are and how you know Amber.
And WHOOHOOOO!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Amber for coming up with this group and idea!!!

I will get us going. My name is Christi Snow. I am a 40 yo SAHM to 15 yo Jacob and 3 yo Kat. I have been married to Ben for 18 years and have spent most of that traveling with the Air Force. He retired last summer as a Lt. Col. and now works in the oilfields of Texas. For the first time in my adult life, I live close to my family (2 hours away.)
I am a stamper/scrapbooker, reader, coffee drinker (all day), and wine drinker (at night.) My favorite place to be is the bookstore with a venti nonfat latte in my hand= HEAVEN! Right now, I am reading about 5-6 books a week, but that is a bit out of the norm. I got spoiled with being able to read non-stop with Ben's last deployment and have had a hard time breaking the habit. ;o)
I have a couple of blogs...a book review one and then my crafty one. I am on a couple of stamping dt's...Unity Stamp Co. and Paper Makeup Stamps. And once in a very great while, I clean the house. Somehow I manage to stay busy.
I have "known" Amber for YEARS! We were part of a scrapbooking community a LONG time ago...like 5-6, maybe even 7 years ago. I was lucky enough to get to finally meet her in person last year when she was in St. Louis for a conference and we were stationed in the area.
Well, I'm pretty sure that I am the old lady of the group! LOL My name is VIcki. I'm 48, with 3 adult kids. My daughter, Brittany, is 26 and is a high school US history teacher. My son, Brennan, is 22 and is a PhD student in electrical engineering at Stanford. My other son, Keaton, is almost 21 and is a junior at UC Berkeley. I live in MA with my hubby of 27 years, Rick. We are high school sweethearts. :) I have one grand-daughter, Emma Grace, who will be 4 next month. I also have 3 fur-babies, all Shih Tzus (Indy, Wylie, and Tiffany).
My first career was as a technical writer. I decided to take 10 years off to be a SAHM when my kids were little. Then I became a 3rd grade teacher. Now I am Emma's nanny while my daughter teaches and I am an author (children's books and Bible study curriculum). I am a huge scrapbooker, love to make cards, love to cross stitch and needlepoint. love to read, and love to take photos. I also love to blab on my blog! (www.giffysk8s.blogspot.com)
I met Amber through my Stamping Bella addiction. Now she is the reason I spend money! I am always falling in love with something she has done/used, and then I just have to have it! LOL She is such a sweetheart, and I feel so blessed to be her friend!
P.S. I deleted my first post because of typos~pretty sad when an author misspells! LOL
Hi everyone! I'm Amy..I think I need to change my picture, LOL but I need to take a decent one...ok so I'm 36, Married to an Active Duty AF Chief, Mom to 15 yo Britain and 12 yo Landon and mutts Duchess and Cocoa ( I did not name them)...We currently live about 20 miles south of Annapolis in a tiny little Chesapeake Bay town...I really love it here (hubby is stationed at Andrews)
OK so I'm an LPN, but haven't worked as one in quite a while since my contract ended on base, right now I work part time for an online retailer, I am also the DT Coordie/Marketing Assistant for EAD DESIGNS.
I know Amber through Christi, I probably never would have picked up a stamp if it wasn't for Christi. Christi and I met through blogging several years ago and then she ended up stationed near St Louis where we already were. Christi introduced me to Unity, which is where I met Amber, who's the sweetest ever. I am so excited that I was invited here and am looking forward to a fun time with you chickies!
I read like crazy, and ingest coffee in epic proportions probably like everyone here..this year I'm trying to keep track of how many by keeping a little notebook. I'm at 11 since Jan 1st. I expect this number to go up since I got a NOOK...LOL..best invention EVER!
Hey should we put an address page on here somewhere? Just an idea in case we want to send cards to each other etc...:)
Woohoo! All my favorite chickies in one spot, I love it!
K, I'm Amber (hee!) and I just turned the big 3-0. The sky hasn't fallen yet though so I may make it through alive!!
I know all of these sweet ladies through stamping and scrapbooking except Sariah who is my sister-in-law (she's married to my little brother!) I've only got to meet Christi in real life which was a REAL treat because like she said, we've known each other for quite a few years! I was sorely upset with Ben when he went and retired because it meant I'd never get stationed with Christi, lol! And no offense, but I'm never living in Texas, ha!;) Hopefully one day I'll get to meet every single one of you!
I am married to Billy and we will have our 8 year anniversary this year! No kids yet, but we're sort of passively trying, if you know what I mean, lol! We do have a couple of the sweetest labs you'll ever see! Luke (my yellow lab) and Jesse (my chocolate lab).
We live in Okinawa Japan where my husband is stationed in the Air Force. He sews on SMSgt
(E-8) next month and we're both very excited about that! I was just medically separated from the Air Force because of knee and ankle arthritis so for now I'm just enjoying our last 10 months on Okinawa as a stay at home wife! While home I love to try new recipes, stamp, play with the dogs, and read! I don't call myself a fast reader though, I'm lucky if I can finish a book in 4 days so Christi kind of blew my mind when she said she reads 5-6 in a week, lmbo!
Well I am SO excited that you all joined me in this book club! I've always wanted to do one and now that I can have all my closest friends in the club-all while we live all over the world, I am a HAPPY girl!;)
Hi Everyone! I'm Brooke {or Brookie to some of these girls} Facts about me: I'll be 35 on 1.19... Married to Trever for the past 14 years... I have 4 spunky, sassy, sweet children.. {Chloe-11, Caden-9.5, Brody-7 & Sofia- 4}.. right now I am a SAHM... We live on a dairy farm in West Central Minnesota... I worked at Unity Stamp Company for the past 2 years full time... then decided to go back to being a domestic godess for a bit... my education background is in teaching.. I do a bit of subbing with preschoolers in our local school district... next year my baby will start kindergarten and I'll have to find another real job.. maybe I can get paid to read books.. drink coffee and travel around the world... eating... and testing out beaches. :)
I 'met' Amber through the Unity Design Team and clicked with her instantly. She is an absolute DOLL and I hope one day to meet her in person!
My hubby gave me a Kindle for Christmas, so Goodnight Tweetheart was the first book I purchased and read on it.. can't wait to share about the book.. I have 40 more books ready to go, so I will have plenty to keep me busy until we start reviewing! I am SO excited that Amber asked me to be a part of this! I *love* books and book clubs... looking forward to getting to know everyone better and share in our love of reading! :)
Hi friends! I'm Ashley. I'm 28 and I'm a stay at home mom to my two sons Brady (3.5) and Parker (1.5). My husband's name is Dustin. We met when I was 16 but didn't start seriously dating until I was 19. We've been married for almost 6 years now. In my "spare" time, I stamp. I also am the marketing director for Through the Craftroom Door Magazine which just launched last April. I'm hoping that this will turn into a job that will help my family to be more financially stable but for now, I'm just helping out.
I love to read but I'm having a hard time trying to fit it all in. I am usually reading 1-2 books a month. I'm hoping to read more.
I met Amber through the Unity forum and just adore her! I'm hoping to meet her in real life one of these days!
I'm late to the party here but I'm going to blame that on the fact that we're still only halfway through our move to England...we move into our house tomorrow! It'll take a while to get our Internet at home set up and all that good stuff, so I'll be slow for a while yet :)
Next week I celebrate my 3rd annual 29th birthday (lol) and I'm super excited that I'll get to do that in my own house considering we've only been in England for two weeks! I have two dogs, my sweet black Lab mixes Sadie and Vader (yes, I am a Star Wars fan). I read a lot, I cross stitch a lot, I stamp a lot, and I'm about to get back into scrapbooking in a big way since I have a million photos from Japan to work with, not to mention what we'll see while we're in England.
Unlike the rest of you ladies, I have spent extensive time in the real-life presence of Amber! We "met" online when we were both getting ready to move to Okinawa, and she was my very first friend when I got there. Together we have scrapped, stamped, watched cheesy 80s movies (we both love Supergirl), and done far more shopping than my husband would like. Hehe!
Despite the fact that my parents called the public library my "home away from home" when I was a kid, I've never before been part of a book club. Looking forward to this!
Christy, we spent 2 years at Mildenhall...absolutely the BEST assignment we had in 20 years with the air force. We loved it there!
Hi there readers :)
I'm Jimmi. This is my 1st foray into a book club and I just have to be honest...I thought book clubs were only for "grown-ups"...so does this make me one of them??? I hope not! lol!
I am married to a super hot man, Mike, and we have a daughter who is at the time of this writing...18 years old, she's a pretty fab chick if I do say so! I also have 2 4-legged daughters that I pretty much think the earth revolves around! We live in Suffolk, VA and I work for a peanut shelling company running the front office, doing administrative stuff, surfing the internet, shopping online, the usual!
I met Amber online through both of us being on the Unity Stamp Co. design team and she has always been SO sweet and supportive, I'm excited we are back together on this fun adventure!
